About This Video

In this livestream, I’m hanging out with the DB Tech community and doing what we all love—touring real, community-submitted homelabs. From mini PCs and closet servers to full-on racks, we talk through what people are running, why they built it that way, and what I’d tweak if it were sitting in my own basement. It’s a relaxed “grab a coffee and come hang out” kind of stream, but we still get into the good stuff: Docker vs VMs, storage choices, networking gotchas, and the little upgrade ideas that make a homelab feel smoother day-to-day. We also end up riffing on the realities of self-hosting right now—like how hardware prices are just stupid, and how that impacts what people can realistically build or buy. I share a real example from my own setup where upstream DNS (Google) was the bottleneck, and simply switching my AdGuard Home upstream to Cloudflare made everything feel fast again. And because it’s live, we chase a few side quests too—gear opinions, what I’m running on Proxmox, and why I’m pretty “set in my ways” unless something genuinely makes my stack easier.
