Join me as we dive into HomeDockOS completely unprepared! 🚀 We're doing a BLIND installation with zero previous testing or setup - what could possibly go wrong? Let's find out together as we attempt to transform a computer into our own private cloud server, live on stream. *What is HomeDockOS?* A next-gen Cloud Operating System that lets you turn any device into your own private cloud. Access 200+ apps with one-click installations, run AI locally with Ollama, host your own media server, and take complete control of your data - all self-hosted. *What We'll Attempt:* - Fresh installation from scratch - Setting up our first apps - Troubleshooting whatever breaks (and something WILL break) - Exploring the 200+ app ecosystem - Testing remote access features *Useful Resources:* - Website: https://www.homedock.cloud/ - Documentation: https://docs.homedock.cloud - Installation Guide: https://docs.homedock.cloud//setup/installation/ - @ServersatHome's Overview: https://youtu.be/qYbQrwOaZx4 Come hang out, ask questions, and watch us figure this out together in real-time. No scripts, no rehearsals - just genuine problem-solving and hopefully a working private cloud by the end! #HomeDockOS #SelfHosting #PrivateCloud #LiveCoding #Docker #OpenSource **Hardware** Beelink ME Pro: https://www.bee-link.com/products/beelink-me-pro Buy Beelink ME Pro: https://amzn.to/4qXMugO (Affiliate Link) NVMe: https://amzn.to/3ZFUeI3 (Affiliate Link) HDD: https://ebay.us/m/4pEnFq USB Drive: https://amzn.to/49U3Pkw (Affiliate Link) If our adventure into MOS ends too quickly, we'll scrap the idea and chat for a while. About This Video

In this livestream, I jumped into HomeDockOS completely blind—zero prep, zero testing, and all the troubleshooting right in front of you. The whole goal was simple: take a spare machine (the Beelink ME Pro I used last week) and see if we can turn it into a private cloud server without a script, a safety net, or me pretending I’ve already done it before. I started by poking around the homedock.cloud site, talking through what HomeDockOS claims to do (200+ one-click apps, encrypted storage, remote access, and even local AI with Ollama), and then I moved straight into the “let’s install it” part. Because I wanted the best chance of success, I stuck to what the HomeDock team recommends: Debian 12 on bare metal. I downloaded the Debian 12 ISO, wrote it to a USB drive using Rufus (yes, with all the warnings and weird prompts), and got everything staged for the install. Along the way, I also talked about my real-world homelab workflow—why I prefer simple setups, how I got pushed into Docker back in the OMV days, and why live, unfiltered problem-solving is the whole point of these streams.
