Hey everyone! 🎉 I'm super excited to finally unbox the ZimaBoard 2 that I got over the holidays! This is IceWhale's newest single-board server featuring the Intel N150 processor, up to 16GB memory, dual 2.5G ethernet, PCIe 3.0 expansion, and native SATA support. What we'll be doing in this stream: - Unboxing the ZimaBoard 2 and checking out all the included accessories - Taking a close look at the hardware specs and build quality - Setting up our first server using the pre-installed ZimaOS software - Exploring what this compact powerhouse can actually do The ZimaBoard 2 is designed for running NAS, media servers (like Plex), homelabs, Docker containers, and much more - all in a compact, fanless design that runs cool and silent 24/7. Specs we're working with (1664 model): - Intel N150 processor - 16GB DDR5 RAM - Dual 2.5GbE ports - 2x SATA ports - PCIe 3.0 x4 slot - Pre-installed with ZimaOS Full disclosure: This ZimaBoard 2 was provided to me by IceWhale for review purposes. About This Video

In this live stream, I finally got my hands on the ZimaBoard 2 from IceWhale and did a full unboxing plus a first look at what you actually get in the box. I went through the accessory pack (drive cage, riser cable, brackets, SATA power/data stuff, and the mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter) and talked about why IceWhale sticks with DisplayPort—HDMI licensing costs money, and DisplayPort is the better “open” option even if it annoys people at first. I also compared the ZimaBoard 2 to the original ZimaBoard and my ZimaBlade, including some honest thoughts on the new industrial look versus the older “cyberpunk” aesthetic. This unit has dual 2.5GbE, SATA support, a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot (open-ended), and it’s noticeably heavier with a solid aluminum chassis. I admitted I was a little butthurt that I’m only just now getting it despite being early on ZimaBoard/CasaOS content, but full disclosure: IceWhale provided the unit for review and my opinions are still my own. The big takeaway: if you want a low-power x86 SBC for a homelab, NAS-ish builds, Docker, or learning stuff like Proxmox HA, this form factor can make a lot of sense—especially if you want something more compatible than a Pi.
