In this video I’m going over the ultra high quality Unreal Engine Environment Bundle from Scans Matter, and I actually open a bunch of the packs inside Unreal so you can see what you’re really getting. The bundle supports the World Wildlife Fund, and it comes with 21 scanned assets for $40—think Quixel-level detail, or at least on that level. If you’ve been looking for semi-realistic environments and materials you can drop into a project fast, this is one of those “okay, that’s a lot of content for the price” deals. I walk through several of the standout packs: the Large Medieval Market (very Skyrim-ish, though the sun lighting felt a little awkward to me), concrete and brick material sets, an airport “security room” that’s honestly more like an abandoned terminal, barriers/gates, a server room, crates and barrels, scanned road textures, shops/restaurants (everything’s destroyed because of course it is), a surprisingly big train station map, and a really solid office environment that’s perfect for story-based games. My main takeaway: the scan quality is the selling point here, and most of these scenes can be re-lit and re-arranged pretty easily to fit your game. I didn’t cover every single pack (warehouse, walkways, rooftops, vehicles, construction, etc.), but you’ll get a clear idea of the overall quality and vibe.
