Hey everyone, in this October edition I’m going over a bunch of new free FAB assets that can genuinely help inspire your game dev journey—especially if you’re building in Unreal Engine. I start with a Villager AI system that gives NPCs actual “things to do” (shopping, queueing, roaming, interacting), which is perfect if you’re trying to make a medieval/fantasy city or shop sim feel more alive. From there I jump into a rigged Zombie Pack (multiple infected variations) and an animation mix pack that includes everything from dancing and prop interactions to zombie-style movement—so you can mix and match quickly without reinventing the wheel. After that, I cover a few “grab bag” style packs like Misc Props (tons of random but useful items) and LP Generic Props (food, toys, shop items—super handy for a shop simulator vibe). If you like stylized work like I do, the Alien Flora pack is a really nice Astroneer-ish plant set, and the Inferno Pack by Ithappy is easily one of my favorites here: cute, cartoony, mobile-friendly lava environment pieces with great vibes. I also show a modular character pack with customization, a cinematic car rig for intros/selection screens, and an easy modular interaction blueprint system—with the one tweak I’d make being changing the “Open Door” text when the door is already open.
