In this video I do a first-time look at Spanza’s DevTools Global Search Pro for Unreal Engine 5. Just to be transparent, it was gifted to me so I could review it, and I’d never downloaded or opened it before—so you’re seeing my real first impressions as I install it and test it inside one of my Ninja Bear Studios projects (combat + looting stuff). The whole pitch is simple: instantly search assets, Blueprints, and project data right inside the editor without tanking performance. Once I enable it, I get a search bar right in the editor and it starts indexing (I’m sitting at almost 9,000 Blueprints in this project). I try a basic search like “inventory” and immediately it’s pulling up relevant widget Blueprints, paths, and even matches inside names/icons. The part that surprised me is the deep results: clicking in shows things like Get Inventory and Set Inventory, and it tells me exactly where they live. I can click an entry and it jumps me straight to that node/event. Then I create a random custom event and test if I need to reindex. It shows up right away without reindexing, and it takes me directly to it. For $18, this is a legit productivity boost—especially if you’re constantly hunting through large UE5 projects.
