A few weeks ago I built a precision jig for my mitre saw, and I added stop blocks with micro adjustment. In this video I’m taking that setup one step further with a quick, simple accessory that lets me cut angles my saw normally can’t handle—safely and accurately—while still keeping the repeatability I want from the jig. The whole idea is basically a secondary fence that pivots: as you slide it around and lock it down, you create the exact angle you need relative to the blade. I made mine from 18 mm MDF I had lying around (plywood is fine too—just don’t go thinner than about 16 mm or it gets awkward). I drill two 6 mm holes for the T-track bolts, connect them into a slot (I used a router, but a jigsaw works if you feel safer), then clamp everything down with T-bolts and wing nuts. To speed up setup, I cut a shim that matches my blade thickness, drop it into the groove, and use an angle finder to set the fence. I demo 45°, a perfect 90° check, and a “non-standard” 53° cut that closes up beautifully to 106°. Simple solution, but it just works absolutely fine. Tiger.
