Hello ! I know its been a while, I miss you guys so much ! *HUGS* ...... I know this year has been a bit of a flop on my channel..... But more on that later! In this video I am taking you guys with me to Mackinac Island where I spent the weekend at the grand hotel! Yes THE grand hotel from the movie Somewhere in time. I didn't film everything because I needed a bit of a break but I tried to capture as much as I could. The hotel was gorgeous so I spend a lot of time taking photos and juts enjoying the decor and architecture. They also have a big pool at the bottom of the hill. And even though its heated it was a bit too cold to put on a swimsuit (it didn't stop some people tho.... and honestly props to those people). I have a feeling you'll be getting some more videos from me this year, I do have another trip planned and a small weekend getaway to kick off the Christmas season ! So see you soon XOXO Carolina

About This Video

Last weekend I took a little road trip to Mackinac Island to stay at the Grand Hotel, and you guys… the fall colors in Michigan were unreal. Everything looked so much more orange than it did back home in Ontario, and driving early in the morning I could even see the mist (is “dew” the right word? I don’t know, I’m not a scientist). Once we got on the ferry, you can actually spot the Grand Hotel in the distance, and it honestly feels like you’re heading into a movie. Mackinac Island was my first time, and the fact that there are no cars makes it feel extra charming—everything is bikes or horse-and-buggy taxis, which I loved. I wandered through the shops (also: why is there fudge everywhere?! tell me), took about a million photos, and soaked in all the color and architecture of the hotel. I also talk about Somewhere in Time (1980) with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, which was filmed here, and they even have a little section dedicated to it. And because I’m me, I fully leaned into the vibe for dinner—after 6 p.m. there’s a dress code, which I personally love—so I wore my 1930s velvet dress with a 1930s hat. It was such a dreamy, photo-filled weekend, and then it was back on the ferry (plus a very random wild hot air balloon sighting on the drive home).
