Van life isn’t just about travel and freedom — there’s a big emotional side too. In this Q&A, I’m opening up about the questions you asked: Do I ever feel lost or anxious about where to go next? What’s my biggest concern living on the road? and do I ever feel lonely? Plus, how van life has changed me spiritually and emotionally. #VanLife #SoloFemaleVanLife #emotionaljourney #Minimalism #vanlifeaustralia You can sign up for my weekly newsletter and read my blog posts here - https://www.brennalivingjoyfully.com/

About This Video

In this video I’m answering your Q&A about the emotional side of van life — the parts people don’t always talk about. I’m in Bothwell, Tasmania at the Mount Adelaide lookout, parked up to paint (inside the van because the sun rating is 10), with Abby keeping guard. While I’m experimenting with a real canvas for the first time and trying to paint with palette knives only, I chat through the feelings that come with solo van life: the “where to next?” anxiety, the comfort of staying somewhere familiar, and how I make decisions when nothing is guaranteed. What I’ve learned after five years is that there’s no right or wrong way to do this. I follow my gut, I follow the weather (most of the time), and I listen when I’ve had enough — because I don’t want this life to feel unpleasant. I also keep “safety zones” in different states: places I know I can go to relax and recharge when the world feels overwhelming. I also share what my biggest concern really is (it’s not money or safety — it’s wasting a day), how van life gave me the time and space to heal and grow spiritually, and why I personally don’t get lonely. For me, it’s about living my life — not doing a big lap — and choosing what actually feels right, one day at a time.
