Van life isn’t just about travel — for me, it’s also about creativity and community. In this Q&A, I’m answering your questions about selling art on the road, sharing more scenery in my videos, whether I’d still film if YouTube didn’t exist, and what I do for a vacation. I’ll also touch on meet-ups, travelling in the NT, and how community has shaped my journey as a mid-aged solo female nomad. About This Video

In this Q&A I’m taking you along the Anxious Bay coastal drive near Elliston on the Eyre Peninsula, stopping at the sculptures as I answer your questions about my life on the road. I talk honestly about what I do and don’t share in my videos, why I’m not trying to be a “spectacular travel channel,” and why I’m not getting a drone. My goal has always been to motivate and inspire older women to go out and live—van or no van—and I like filming from my real viewpoint, in the moment. I also answer questions about where I’m heading (and where I’m not). North Queensland is a no for me because I don’t do hot and humid, and I’m not planning to drive the Northern Territory in the van either. I share how I handle costs (my fuel budget is $100 a week), why markets aren’t practical for me right now with Abby, and what a “vacation” looks like when you live in a van (caravan parks feel like a five-star hotel). I finish by chatting about my art journey, community on the road as a middle-aged solo woman, and my plan to run small, joy-focused art workshops to build real connection.
