In this video, I’m doing a true Battle of the Brands: The Doux Bee Girl Honey Curl Custard vs Miche Tropical Oasis Anti-Humidity Gel—on my Type 4 wash and go. Since we learned Miche likes a TON of water, I kept it fair and drenched both sides of my hair before applying. I used the shingling method (small sections for more fullness) so we could really see definition, slip, and how each product coats every strand. On the Doux side, the application was slick, smooth, and super easy to spread—no strand left behind. After drying, that side gave me a stronger cast and beautiful definition… but once I started breaking the cast, I saw flakes. Not necessarily sitting all over my hair, but enough “snowstorm” specks flying around to be a red flag. On the Miche side, the gel felt almost trippy—so soft and slick you’d think it wouldn’t hold, but it grips the hair with ease. It dried with a softer, flexible hold, felt more moisturizing, gave me a bit more elongation, and most importantly: no flakes. Hands down, Miche Tropical Oasis Anti-Humidity Gel took the win.
