RETRYING THE BLOCK PARTY GEL vs BANANAS GEL by The Doux a Wash n Go on Natural hair - Honest Review

About This Video

Hey y’all, in this video I’m retrying The Doux Block Party Anti-Humidity Gel because my first review two weeks ago did not give what it needed to give. After reading y’all’s comments, I changed two big things: I added way more water and I actually finished the full process (including drying) to see if it “comes alive” once it’s set. I also made sure my hair was freshly washed, deep conditioned, and 100% rinsed out—no leftover conditioner hiding in twists this time. Since I can’t just redo a wash n go and call it a day, I turned it into a comparison with The Doux Big Poppa “Bananas” Gel (aka “that girl” according to a lot of my subscribers). On wet hair, Block Party applied super slippery and felt amazing, but once it sat… I started seeing that same issue: the clumps expand and I’m left with what I called “defined frizz.” Both gels were sticky/tacky with no leave-ins (because The Doux repeatedly says don’t layer leave-ins/oils), but after the hooded dryer, Bananas had more structure, more cast, and way more definition. By day two, Block Party gave early volume (cute shape, but not longevity for my sweaty fitness era), while Bananas held up better—so it really comes down to what you prefer: volume now or definition that lasts.
