In this video, I’m going for it again lol—another flat twist out attempt, but this time I’m using ONLY The Doux Chief Rocka Extreme Moisture Mousse. Last week was a fail, so I wanted to reattempt it the right way and actually let the product show me what it can do on its own. My hair is freshly washed and deep conditioned, and I skipped leave-in on purpose because y’all already know I like my reviews to be fair. I section my hair carefully with a comb for clean parts, and I split the back into two layers because my flat twists always come out better that way. I go in with smaller twists (four in the back instead of three) for more definition, and I love that this mousse has so much slip that I can detangle without feeling like I’m causing damage. I smooth thoroughly, use small sections while twisting to keep everything neat, and I recoil my ends (perm rod if you struggle). I blot excess product with a microfiber towel, clip the twists for extra neatness, then sit under my hooded dryer for 1 hour and 15 minutes—because if it’s not 100% dry, don’t take it down. The takedown was chef’s kiss: my hair was falling off the bone, definition was on 10, and the shine and softness were giving butter. I also show how it held up on day four—definition was still there, but the shape in the back needed a refresh. Overall, Chief Rocka is still that girl… she just needed a little help.
