Hey yall good morning, Today's video is a good ole flat twist out, as you can tell by the title. I just wanted to do something simple while trying out a new combo. Yall know, I am always down for a little experiment. In this video, I'd thought I try the Chief Rocka Mousse and the Bananas Xtreme Gel to see what results I'd get. This was definitely fun to make and gave interesting results. I hope yall like this one... thank you always for watching! - Brandi LaShay

About This Video

In this video, I’m doing a good ole flat twist out because I’ve been wearing nothing but wash and gos for months and I was ready for some twist-out definition again. I tested a new combo: Chief Rocka Extreme Moisture Mousse and Bananas Xtreme Gel (and yes, y’all—don’t laugh). I also shared a little hack from one of my YouTube girlies: swapping the gel top for a pump, which made applying it so much easier. I applied the gel first for extra hold (especially on the ends), then went in heavy with the mousse for slip and smoothness, and I flat twisted using my pointer finger technique to keep the twists neat and tight. After drying under the hooded dryer for about 30–40 minutes and doing the takedown the next morning, the definition was absolutely there—and I could feel that hold wrapped around my strands like it could last all week. But the combo ended up being too drying on my hair, and the flaking/residue got worse as I kept going. So even though the definition was on 10, I’m denying this combo. If I do it again, I’d add a leave-in for moisture, or honestly just use the Chief Rocka mousse by itself because that product is really good on its own.
