About This Video

Hey y’all, in this video I’m breaking down exactly how I went from short hair to healthier, longer hair by sharing my top 5 secrets for growth—especially if you’re trying to retain length on natural curls. I’m not wasting time either: I start with the foundation, which is a real hair care routine. For me that looks like weekly shampooing (mostly moisturizing shampoos) and then a clarifying “reset” week, plus alternating between protein and moisture depending on what my hair needs. And yes, trimming matters—because length retention is the goal. I recommend trims every 2–3 months so split ends don’t catch up to your progress. Next, I get into knowing your hair type—specifically porosity—because it saves you time and money when you’re picking products and figuring out what your hair responds to. I also talk low manipulation styling, because growth isn’t just about what you do on wash day, it’s about what you do the other 6 days. I’m a wash-and-go girly and I literally set it and don’t touch it, but I also explain how wigs/braids can become damaging if there’s tension and friction. Then we get into the inside stuff—iron, vitamin D, diet, and water—because I personally dealt with iron deficiency and it impacted my hair. And finally, patience and consistency: hair grows about half an inch a month, so you’ve gotta give the process time to do what it’s gonna do.
