About This Video

In this video I took my Razer Viper Ultimate and went full DIY mode to make a custom vaporwave colorway. First step was a teardown: heat (honestly, use a hair dryer… a heat gun gets sketchy), pop the PTFE feet, deal with Razer’s annoying diamond-shaped screws, and split the shell so I could paint the parts that actually matter. And yeah—this is where my inexperience showed, because I tried removing the side rubber grips and ended up warping the thumb buttons with the heat gun. Real kick in the nuts: I later realized I didn’t even need to remove those grips in the first place. Once everything was prepped and primed (I filmed this during the Texas blizzard, so no outdoor priming footage), I used my airbrush with acrylics to build a glowy vaporwave gradient. I pre-highlighted with white acrylic ink so the translucent layers would pop, then laid down Vallejo Royal Purple, a bright pink for M1/M2, and turquoise for the side buttons and rear fade. After that, I added brush edge-highlighting—yes, mini-painting style—because it makes the seams look like they’re glowing. I finished it with multiple coats of enamel gloss for durability, reassembled everything, and the final result ended up way better than my first-time mistakes deserved.
