Happy Monday, you guys—welcome to Weekly Reading Vlog #95. In this vlog I’m giving you a proper life + reading catch-up: fresh hair (I got it crocheted and I’m obsessed because it looks like a new set of braids), a realistic reading plan, and a little slow-living reset. The main book I’m focused on is Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro, and I’m taking it slow on purpose because I’m genuinely enjoying it. I’m only around chapter five (page 88/89-ish), but we’ve already met the Kenddale Institute situation, the “talents,” the detectives, and John Mara—who is absolutely giving bad guy vibes… even though he thinks he’s “saving” the kids. I also talk through why I switched from audiobook to reading with my eyes (the narration + historical fantasy “high English” had me missing too much), and what I’ll pick up next if I finish—Golden Son by Pierce Brown, paired with audio. Then we get into my content plans (editing backlog, mixing older vlogs with current videos), my reading journal for 2025/2026 (I’m not starting over anymore—I’m using it until it’s finished), and a little coffee era update because my espresso machine is broken again. I grabbed a Bosch grinder as an interim fix and I’m leaning into the idea of slowing down and actually taking my coffee break. Plus: an AYANA haul because their clothes are basically my grown, clean, elegant aesthetic right now.
