About This Video

Good morning you guys—welcome to Weekly Reading Vlog #91. In this vlog I kick off my Monday by doing a proper reading reset and sharing the exact books I’m picking up this week after re-reading Fourth Wing (still a five-star for me, but this time it was really about refreshing my memory so I can continue the series). I thought I’d be in a contemporary or thriller mood, but clearly higher fantasy is calling me, so I talk you through what I’m prioritising and what I’m “nibbling at” on the side. My book club read is Making a Killing by Bonnie Estie, and I’m taking it slow—chapter-by-chapter—while I also dabble in The Turnglass (which has that super cool two-stories-you-flip-the-book format). But the main event for me this week is Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro. I’m only a few pages in and I was already hooked—1874 historical fantasy, a brutal opening, and a mystery that had me like “yeah, I want this.” I also chat about being hesitant to start series when I don’t have book two, my Everand subscription possibly expiring, and how I’m reviving my unused reading journal instead of wasting it—because we’re not throwing it away, okay?
