Hi you guys—welcome to my first proper reading vlog of the year. In this video I’m basically catching you up on what’s been going on with my content life (space issues, editing struggles, sharing a laptop… the whole mess), and why I finally bought myself a MacBook Air in midnight with the M4 chip. I’m learning the Apple user interface in real time (don’t even get me started on the scrolling direction), but the biggest win is that I can finally edit properly again. I’m back on DaVinci Resolve, and for the first time in forever I can actually use effects and do things to my text without my project breaking. Reading-wise, I’m deep into my reread of Fourth Wing and I’m having the best time—especially because the romance isn’t instant and the pining/build-up is everything. I also talk about what I love about Violet as a main character, including the chronic pain rep and how it’s written in a way that feels real and detailed. And then for my cozy nighttime reads, my daughter and I are working through The BFG together, which is equal parts mysterious and fun. To round it out, I do a little SHEIN haul with some practical home bits (and bookish comfort things like a Kindle page turner + holder setup), plus a few lifestyle updates—editing plans, a mom day out, and my little reset mindset for the year.
