About This Video

In this video I’m chatting through the January new releases I’m most excited about—aka the books that made me stop scrolling because the covers were stunning, or because they’re by authors I already trust. I’m reading the synopses for the first time with you (laptop open), so you’re getting my real-time reactions—like when a premise is immediately pulling me in and I decide to stop reading because, honestly, I want to go into thrillers as blind as possible. The list is a mix of my favorite psychological thrillers (Alice Feeney’s My Husband’s Wife and Freida McFadden’s Dear Debbie) and a bunch of fantasy that’s giving everything from gothic dark academia to romantasy vibes. I talk through titles like Anatomy of an Alibi (because First Lie Wins was such a win for me), A Vow and Vengeance (tarot magic + deadly school energy), Graceless Heart (Renaissance Italy vibes), The Poet Empress (poetry magic and darker themes), This Swan’s Daughter (the “heart and hand” thing… are they taking the actual heart and the actual hand?), We Who Have No Gods (those buzzwords are elite), Dragon Curse (it’s the dragons, guys), and The Wolf at the Crown of Blood (dark, seductive, enemies-to-lovers promises). I also mention the newest Wayward Children installment as motivation for me to finally catch up on the series.
