About This Video

Happy 2026, you guys. In this video I’m kicking off the year with my very first TBR, but I wanted to do it in a “nice spicy way” — I picked one book for every letter in JANUARY. Because I recently reorganized my shelves alphabetically by author surname, I literally just went to each section (J, A, N… you get the gist) and chose whatever I felt like I’d actually be in the mood for, instead of forcing a super strict plan. My January 2026 TBR ends up being a mix of middle grade, YA mystery, fantasy, romantasy, and sci-fi — plus a couple of intentional rereads. I’m continuing Pages & Co with Anna James, finally getting back to Where the Sleeping Girls Lie, and giving The Book of Azrael another shot because the audiobook really affected my enjoyment the first time. “U” humbled me because I don’t have an author with a U surname, so I had to cheat and use a title pick (The Unbroken). I also talk about why I’m trying to avoid starting series when I don’t own the next book (because stress), why I’m cutting down on unnecessary rereads, and how I’m changing my 2026 reading approach: I’m setting my StoryGraph goal to 1 so I can read without that “you’re behind” pressure. And of course, I’m starting my Red Rising reread (again) because I’m prepping for the final book and I want all the crumbs this time.
