About This Video

I took you with me to Las Vegas for the 2025 HFA Trade Show to get behind-the-scenes with the people building the next wave of recovery tech. The big focus in this video is the Jetboots Pro Plus concept of combining pneumatic compression with near-infrared light therapy—and how the engineers think about “dose,” not just features. They broke down the target energy ranges for small vs. large muscles (roughly 20–60 joules for smaller muscles and 60–300 for larger ones), and how that affects LED strip placement for areas like quads/hamstrings, around the knee, calves/soleus, and even the Achilles/heel. One of my favorite takeaways was learning that you won’t necessarily see all the light “on,” even when it’s working. The visible red LED is basically a user indicator, while the near-infrared (around 830–850 nm) is non-visible but still active. We also got into the bigger industry shift: FDA oversight (device safety/quality standards) and FTC enforcement on advertising claims—especially after the 2022 expansion to “health products,” including devices. The message was clear: brands that don’t back claims with real studies are going to get left behind, and the companies investing in science now are shaping the next 10–20 years of recovery tech.
