I took you with me to Las Vegas for the 2025 HFA Trade Show to get a real behind-the-scenes look at where recovery tech is headed next. My goal was simple: talk to the people building the stuff, learn what’s coming in 2025, and figure out what’s actually worth paying attention to if you’re into athlete recovery. First up, I linked with Andy Dunn from JK and got hands-on with their light-focused recovery lineup—especially the Well System Wave. It’s a multi-sensory setup with massage, aromatherapy, sound, and active red light, and I’ll be honest: laying in it felt like a warm, hot-tub-level massage with a ton of customization (height, intensity, speed, body area, lighting, even music). We also talked about how red light is getting more mainstream, and why both commercial facilities and everyday consumers are getting way more discerning about the science. Then I met VA Body (new to the US) to check out their multi-modality approach—vacuum pressure for circulation/lymphatic drainage plus infrared and collagen lamps for heat and skin health. I also talked with Frost Locker about their “dry” cold therapy rooms that can replace multiple cold plunges and make contrast therapy easier—no wet area, no slimy water, and temps down around 35°F (even colder in their Idaho unit).
