Good morning guys—today’s video is all about Kate heading to her very first rated horse show, and honestly… we were learning as we went. It was an early Father’s Day start (because apparently that’s Scott’s dream day), and on the drive we were multitasking hard—trying to sort out Kate’s university housing situation while also hoping we didn’t forget any “rated show” paperwork. Between late-night roommate connections, crazy rental competition, and just trying to keep life moving, we rolled in hoping our luck would finally turn around. Once we got to the show, it was such a nice facility—three rings, super organized, and an announcing system you can actually hear (which is a gift). We got Stevie settled, dealt with the slinky/blanket situation that drives her nuts if it sits on her nose, and watched Kate do the smart thing—walk Stevie around to let her look at the plants and the “break in the fence” area that made her spook. Kate needed 2'9" results for her university team tryout qualifications, so the pressure was real. And then… the results happened. Kate came out of her first rated over fences classes placing—sixth, then fifth, then fourth—plus fifth in equitation and fourth in the hunter under saddle. For a first rated show, I could not be happier. It was one of those days where things finally felt like they were going our way.
