In this short, I’m out on the farm introducing Moose to Bear’s sister for the very first time, and it hit me right in the heart. Just beyond the ridge is where we’ve got lots of coyote packs, so having solid LGDs isn’t optional here—it’s part of keeping everyone safe. The original plan was to keep these two apart at first, but they both really wanted to see each other, so I let them meet carefully and watched every second. What surprised me most was how calm and sweet they were together. This is the totality of their reaction—no growling, no tension, just happy curiosity. Moose is 11 months old and she’s three, so she’s going to finish teaching him what Bear couldn’t. Bear did an amazing job with Moose, and it honestly feels like Bear is still watching over him and sent us his sister. She’s got a very similar temperament to Bear—just a bit smaller at about 80 lb, while Moose is sitting around 115–120 right now. She was nervous coming out of her stall, so I kept her on a lead, but she’s incredibly loving, attached to me, and responds fast to a female voice. The goal now is simple: give Moose a best friend to play with… and not the goats.
