Budget Winter Hiking Layers

Budget gear can be helpful for beginners and seasoned hikers alike. Here I review a mixed bag of hiking pants, rain jacket, and insulated coat by Ushare (see links below!). IMPORTANT NOTE: In 2025 I became aware of the danger and widespread use of PFAS chemicals in the DWR coating of much rain gear. This is mostly a problem during the manufacturing process - so if you have PFAS gear, the damage has pretty much already been done. Thankfully, several companies are already PFAS-free, and have committed to avoiding PFAS materials in their future products.
