About This Video

Hi my darlings, this vlog is my real and raw weekend as a mom of 4 with a newborn—yes, my life is literally chaotic right now, but we’re still doing it in style. I showed you how I’m navigating the newborn stage while still running the home and making sure my older kids are well fed, especially because it was the weekend before school resumption for second term (first week of January). I also talked about nursing and expressing breast milk, how I store it in the freezer for moments when I’m too busy or sweaty to nurse directly, and why I’m taking things easy because I had just given birth five days earlier (29th of December—my birthday). In this video, I cooked proper Nigerian family meals: coconut rice for lunch, then I carried stew over to the next day because I couldn’t finish on Saturday. On Sunday, I made stew (because stew is a lifesaver in my house), porridge beans with ripe plantain, white rice with fried ripe plantain and fried chicken, and I wrapped everything up with afang soup to stock my freezer for the new school week. I also shared my honest plan to finally get a house help because with four kids, I need an extra hand—especially for cleaning and keeping the home running.
