About This Video

Hello everyone, my name is Bridget, and for Vlogmas Day 16 I’m doing something super simple but honestly so relaxing—repotting two new succulents from my Succulent Studios subscription box. These were actually from November’s box (oops), but I wanted to show you how I set them up in their “forever for now” pots. The little biodegradable pots they come in can be planted straight into a bigger pot, but I personally don’t like doing that, so I take them out and repot them individually so they have extra room to grow without me having to repot again too soon. I repot a Black Rose succulent and a Burgundy succulent, and I’m not gonna lie—one of them has basically no root system, so I’m a little scared and just hoping for the best. I use a mesh sheet over the drainage hole to keep substrate from falling through, then I add a gritty mix so the water drains well and my succulents don’t get overwatered. After that, I show you my whole little succulent station: colorful pots, a bamboo tray to catch water, and my grow light setup (I run it about 12 hours a day). It’s a cozy plant moment, but it’s also all about good drainage, being gentle with roots, and setting your plants up to thrive.
