About This Video

It’s time to get controversial. In this video I sit down and run through my unpopular pet opinions—aka the stuff I see all the time that either doesn’t make sense to me or just bugs me. I talk about why “loose substrate” isn’t automatically evil (not all loose substrate is bad), why I’m ridiculously passionate about the fact that snakes DO climb (yes, even the “burrower” types), and why a shed not being one perfect tube doesn’t instantly mean you’re a terrible keeper. Sometimes it rips on decor—sections can still be a good shed. I also get into enclosure debates: I don’t love when people brag about gallons if the animal can only access the bottom half, and I’d rather see true enrichment and usable space. Then we talk anthropomorphism (I don’t think reptiles have human emotions, but I do read body language), the “room temperature” trap (most people don’t actually keep their homes 75–85°F), and why supplemental heating/cooling matters in harsh winters or brutal summers. I finish with two spicy ones: adopt don’t shop (I support it, but I don’t think it fits everyone) and outside cats—where I explain my situation with Chester and why blanket statements don’t always match real life.
