In this video I’m finally introducing you guys to my African fat-tailed geckos—two little beauties that I haven’t officially shown on the channel yet. Both of them came from (or through) Huff’s Herps here in Texas, and since African fat tails are literally my favorite, I knew Seth was the only person I wanted to go through. I wanted to do a dedicated video because each girl has her own unique “special quality,” and I figured it was time y’all met them properly. First up is Cork (spelled Q-U-E-R-K), my normal striped juvenile who’s about seven months old. She’s feisty, a little nippy sometimes, and she came to me as “pet only” because she has a crooked/kinked tail from something that happened in the egg. It doesn’t hinder her at all, but it’s not something you’d want to risk passing on. Then I introduce Mary (Merry), my adult female white out Oreo AFT who is the sweetest gecko I’ve ever met—but she does have neurological-type issues like leaning, wobbling, circling, and missing her food when she strikes. She was given to me for free because Seth wanted her in a home where she’d be truly cared for, and for me it’s a total labor of love.
