Keeping Feeder Insects Alive Longer! | Care & Enclosure Setups

The nutrition of your reptiles & amphibians is so important! XOXO Recommendations: 1. Gutload feeder insects at LEAST 24 hours prior to feeding them to your animal. 2. If not feeding all your insects at the same time, remove the desired number of insects into a separate container, 1-2 days prior to feeding, and gutload them there. 3. Provide fresh food & water for your feeder insects, to prevent cannibalistic behavior. 4. Clean your feeder insect enclosures properly & regularly. 5. Refresh food & water every 2 days to prevent mold, as well as keeping the insects as healthy as possible. 6. If you find mold, GET RID OF EVERYTHING! 7. FULLY clean feeder insect enclosures every 7 days. Care Requirements: 1. Appropriately-sized container that is clean & secure, with proper ventilation. 2. Hiding places like egg crates, or deep bedding that is safe and edible, like oatmeal. 3. Water source in gel form, to prevent drowning. Worms get their water from their food source. 4. Food source like carrots, squash, potatoes, & apple. **Extra mealworms can also be kept in the fridge to slow down the growth process and make them last longer – but NEED to be gutloaded before being fed.
