About This Video

Howdy everybody—Omar here, your Audio Amigo. In Headphone Hoedown Ep.7 I’m reviewing the Sivga Luan: a $300 open-back dynamic with the usual Sivga “wood-and-style” vibe. I walk through the unboxing (including Sivga’s very nice hard case), accessories, and the overall build—spring steel headband, wooden cups, metal grills, and some of the softest stock pads I’ve ever felt. I also talk about the one big miss in the package: the stock cloth cable is stiff, memory-prone, and microphonic, so I’d personally swap it fast if I was daily driving the Luan. Sound-wise, I break down the Luan as a warm-leaning V-shape with a punchy, midbass-focused low end, energetic upper mids for female vocal harmonics, and a bit of “zing” up in the upper treble that can get spicy on hot masters. It’s easy to drive, but it does change a bit with higher output-impedance sources (it’ll warm up). Technical performance and staging are solid-but-not-special for an open-back at this price, and I compare it to the Sundara, HD6XX, Aune AR5000, and Focal Elex. My takeaway: the Luan’s superpower is comfort, and with light EQ (a simple high-shelf cut), it becomes a really easy headphone to wear for hours—especially if you can catch it on sale.
