In this Showcase Ep.15 I’m taking a look at something way outside my usual “budget TWS” lane: the Plexsonic Strato and Strato+—true wireless custom IEMs (TWS CIEMs) that run about $400–$650 depending on driver count and customization. I walk through the box/accessories, the charging case design (including the Plexic letter battery indicator), the custom resin shells and faceplate printing, and the real-world user experience—controls, transparency mode, mic quality, and a few annoyances like the case being a bit large and the earbuds sometimes reconnecting if the lid shifts in a backpack. Comfort and isolation are the headline here. Because these are molded to my ears, they fit me like an absolute glove, and the passive noise isolation is so strong that I genuinely didn’t miss ANC—these became my default airplane/travel set. Sound-wise, the big takeaway is that the Strato+ is the one to get for music: the standard Strato’s bass is frankly anemic and the brighter top end can flirt with stealth fatigue. The Strato+ comes across as warm-leaning neutral “plain water” tuning—tight, controlled bass, natural mids, smoother treble, and clearly better technical performance—so I fully recommend the Plus if you can swing the extra cost.
