Hey y’all! In this video I’m in my foyer decorating the shelf that’s right by the front door—so it’s literally the first thing you see when you walk into my home. Last year I did an elf playground up here and I loved it, but this year I started noticing a little pattern in my goodies… red reindeer! So I decided to change it up and create my own “Reindeer Land” (or reindeer wonderland) using the red deer I’ve been collecting from places like Walmart and HomeGoods. I walk you through how I build the look step-by-step: I keep my greenery and battery-operated twinkle lights up as a base, then I layer in different heights with a simple red plate as a riser. I mix patterns (stripes and polka dots) so the red doesn’t feel too monotonous, and I add in a red cloth tree, a red berry wreath, and my favorite directional signs (Santa and elves) to give it personality. To finish it off, I add a red-and-white wood garland for contrast and even a little “reindeer feed” because, y’all… they may get hungry! The big takeaway is you can absolutely decorate with a strong color theme—just break it up with whites, greens, and a few different textures so it still feels cozy and balanced.
