In this video I’m keeping it simple: I’m transitioning my off-camera flash kit from Godox to Neewer. This isn’t one of those long, overly dramatic “I’m switching” videos—I just want to explain what I’m doing, why I’m doing it, and what you can expect from me going forward. And to be clear, this has nothing to do with Godox being “bad.” I’ve had zero real issues with my Godox kit—my AD200 even fell into water, I revived it, replaced the battery, and it still works perfectly to this day. The real reason I’m moving is because I genuinely enjoyed using the Neewer Q4. Neewer reached out to me to review it, I tested it in real-world conditions (115° heat, full sun, high-speed sync at full power for most of the shoot), and it performed like a beast—no overheating and not a single misfire. Over the last several months I’ve also built a solid relationship with my Neewer rep, learned more about where the company is today (in-house R&D versus the old rebrand days), and that gave me confidence in the direction they’re headed. Yes, there’s been a financial incentive and I’m transparent about that—but I wouldn’t put my client work at risk if I didn’t trust the gear. For the next six months, I’ll be running Neewer strobes exclusively, and I’ll have more Q200 content once I’ve really put it through its paces.
