About This Video

In this video I’m walking you through a full model digitals session from start to finish—BTS style—with a Las Vegas model. The whole point of digitals is simple: show what the model actually looks like, in a raw, honest way. This is not the time to get fancy with poses, lighting tricks, or heavy styling. Less is more, and if you’ve got to “think” too hard about it, you’re probably doing it wrong. I start with measurements (bust/waist/hips, shoe and dress size, height/weight), because accuracy matters and credibility is everything. If you show up to a casting not matching your digitals or your stats, you’re done. Then I break down how I shoot each required look: straight-on headshot, 3/4 headshot (and how to avoid turning too far so the nose breaks the plane of the face), simple side profile, 3/4 body, and full body (front, 3/4, sides, and back). I also talk about the reality that a lot of newer models struggle being barefaced—but you’ve got to get comfortable with it, because the industry will ask for it. The goal is clean, soft, flat light, clear jawline, and a little personality without turning it into a full photoshoot.
