#photographyforbeginners #photographytips #offcameraflash In this video I'm comparing three similar modifiers with different interior colors: silver, black, and white. I only briefly look at the differences; the files are provided in the link below, where you can compare more thoroughly if you'd like to. *FILES* https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Uf5n8qs_zGwfhKupzpniFxaXplYmC4fG?usp=share_link *[ WORKSHOPS AND WEBINARS ]* To learn more about my workshops, webinars, and one-on-one coaching, please visit http://www.anthonytoglife.com *[ SOCIAL MEDIA ]* Personal IG: @anthonytoglife ( https://www.instagram.com/anthonytoglife/ ) Business IG: @toglifemedia_ ( https://www.instagram.com/toglifemedia_/ ) *[ E-MAIL ]* AnthonyToglife@gmail.com *[ SUBSCRIBE For More Content ]* If you like my content, please support this channel by leaving a LIKE on my video and subscribing to see more content like this in the future. *[ GEAR USED TO MAKE THIS VIDEO ]* @CanonUSA EOS 7D Mark II @CanonUSA EF 40mm f/2.8 STM @kfconcept 1/4 Black Mist Filter @TASCAMUSA DR-10L Portable Digital Recorder @BOYA-mic Boyalink *[ OTHER VIDEOS YOU MAY ENJOY ]* I'm Leaving Godox And Switching To Neewer https://youtu.be/ho4QWwq72N8 One Light Photoshoot (Neewer Q4) - Off Camera Flash | Outdoor Photography | Extended Cut https://youtu.be/KUNYhmWYosU How To Balance Continuous Light With A Godox AD200 Flash | Colbor W100R https://youtu.be/Kq6mVyM89a0 You SHOULD Be Giving Your Clients The RAW/UNEDITED Files! https://youtu.be/BCBMB09Yfis *[ f/16 Photography Podcast ]* ►Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/36g2HB5zZL3we8Rwffxs46 ►Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/f-16-photography-podcast/id1655488993 ►Google Podcasts: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWCLpc6t3xbYW1lVd0yJuLGHXPQU7I838

About This Video

In this video I’m testing something people ask me all the time: does the interior color of a modifier actually matter? I compared three very similar modifiers with silver, white, and black interiors (using my Neewer Q200 setup) and shot four rounds of images for each one: bare modifier only, then with the deflector plate, then with the inner baffle, and finally with the outer diffusion. I kept everything as consistent as possible—Quinn as my subject (because she’s super consistent), a light meter mounted in the same spot, a gray card for easy white balance, and a tripod so the framing never changes. What I found is pretty much where I’ve always leaned: once you add diffusion, the diffusion becomes your light source, so the interior color/material matters a lot less in terms of the final look. The biggest “whoa” moment was the black interior with the deflector plate—it created a weird ring-like light pattern that threw off the meter and forced me to bring the exposure down a full stop to match the others. For how I shoot, I still prefer silver because it’s a little punchier and gives me more output, especially if I’m ever going bare. But if you’re diffusing your light, I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker either way—check the provided files and decide for yourself.
