Easy to set up and sounds shockingly good.

About This Video

In this video I walk you through the easy setup for the award-winning Andover One Music System. It’s much simpler than a conventional hi‑fi rig, but there are a few important steps you need to do before you drop the needle. I start right from unboxing—how to lift out the dust cover, platter, and packing as a unit, and why you should keep the carton and packing materials (if you ever need service, proper packing matters and shipping damage from improper packing isn’t covered under warranty). From there, I cover the critical mechanical setup: removing the transport screws, loosening the motor screws for normal operation, and freeing the tonearm. The most important part is balancing the tonearm and setting tracking force and anti-skate. I show how to float the arm level, zero the scale, then dial in the recommended 1.8–2.0g tracking force (18–20 on the scale), and how to install the anti-skating weight on the correct groove. Finally, I show belt placement for 33/45 (and note the extra belt is for 78s), install the platter, mat, and dust cover, then connect power and optional add-ons like Songbird or a subwoofer. Once you pull the remote’s battery tab, you’re ready to power on in phono mode and start listening.
