Follow this video to properly set up your turntable platter, tonearm weight, and anti-skate on the Model-One Music System.

About This Video

In this Model-One Music System setup video, I walk you through the core steps to get your turntable running the way it should—starting right from the transport hardware. After loosening and removing the two motor screws installed in the turntable, I show how to install the flat drive belt by stretching it around the inner platter and over the top step of the small motor pulley. From there, you gently place the platter onto the spindle and finish that part of the assembly by adding the felt platter mat. Next, I focus on tonearm setup, because getting tracking force right is what protects your records and helps you get the best sound. I install the counterweight on the rear of the tonearm, lower the lift lever, and move the arm so it can float freely. Then I rotate the counterweight until the tonearm balances level, set the dial to zero, and finally set tracking force to 1.8 grams (18 on the scale). To finish, I set the anti-skate by hanging the looped end on the middle groove of the stub and attaching the weight—then it’s time to put a record on and enjoy.
