Morning. Not “good morning,” because there was nothing good about it. I’m in the car trying to find my zen after one of those mornings where getting kids on the bus on time feels like an Olympic event, and I’m running on stress and concealer (no foundation lately, which is saying something). On top of the usual chaos, Cruz has another dentist appointment—other side this time—and that whole thing is emotionally draining for me because I hate seeing my kids uncomfortable. I already made him promises, so after the appointment we’re hitting Tractor Supply because I need grain anyway (horses are out), and he’ll probably pick out a little truck or something. But the real rant of the day is playground etiquette—because tell me why this isn’t a required class before you have kids. We brought a little bag of toys to the park and were totally fine sharing, especially when an older homeschool group rolled in. The problem was the older boys started acting like they owned the toys and the space—yelling at my preschooler and his friend for “messing up their scene,” and then one kid literally followed me and another mom around just to complain about our kids. Meanwhile, their parents were posted up far away like, “Not my problem.” My takeaway: sharing is great, but boundaries and basic manners are not optional—especially when your kid is bothering other adults.
