It’s the night before Noah’s first day of daycare, and y’all… my mama heart was not ready. In this vlog I’m packing his bag (Florida heat is no joke, so yes—sunscreen and extra clothes), getting him dressed at 6 a.m., and trying to keep it together while I make him breakfast even though daycare provides it. I knew he might not feel comfortable eating there on day one, and on top of that, he’s also adjusting to not having breast milk while I’m pregnant—so it’s a lot of changes at once. On the drive, I’m praying for real—“God take the wheel”—because it’s bittersweet handing your baby to someone else when you’ve been with them since they were a newborn. I also talk about how we switched daycares after a nurse warned us about reports at the original place, because nope… I’m going to protect my baby, period. After drop-off, I share how he surprised me (my little drama king did good!) and why I felt peace about the providers there. Then I try to take care of myself too—shopping for scrubs for work, checking in with the daycare when he gets fussy, and grabbing him a few Burlington/Five Below goodies to brighten his day while we all adjust.
