You’ve probably built front-end apps in Google AI Studio before, but in this video I show you how to add the missing piece: a real backend that handles auth, a database, and file storage—using Firebase. I walk you through building a “Gemini Drive” style app where users can register, verify their email, log in (including Google sign-in), upload files, rename them, add notes, and keep everything synced so it doesn’t disappear on refresh. I made this one slower and beginner-friendly on purpose, because a lot of you asked for that. We start by creating a Firebase project and web app, grabbing the SDK, and wiring up Firebase Authentication (email/password + Google). Then I add the stuff most tutorials skip: proper error handling, email verification (so you don’t get fake accounts), and a forgot-password flow. After that, I set up Firestore with a clean structure (collections vs documents), explain why UID is the key to everything, and publish security rules so users can only access their own data. Finally, we connect Firebase Storage for uploads/downloads, sync file metadata into Firestore (including storage paths), and implement downloads by fetching a URL from the stored path. I also show how to store profile details + profile photos so everything stays persistent and secure.
