About This Video

If you think you need hundreds of dollars to launch a successful SaaS, that’s because you have no idea just how powerful AI has become. In this video I take a simple “YouTube Learner” app I built in Google AI Studio and turn it into a fully monetizable subscription app—Free, Plus, and Premium—using only free no-code tools: Firebase, Make.com, and PayPal. The goal is simple: users get 10 free credits, then they upgrade, get redirected to PayPal, and the app unlocks features automatically the moment payment goes through. I walk you through the whole payments backend: creating PayPal subscription products/plans in Sandbox, grabbing plan IDs, authenticating with the PayPal API, and generating secure approval links dynamically in Make.com. I also show the Firestore structure I use (plan, videos_used, current_month, credits_remaining, status, period start/end, subscription_id), plus a webhook listener that catches PayPal events like activated/canceled/expired and syncs everything back to Firestore in real time. Finally, I make AI Studio “listen” for changes in the user document so the UI updates instantly—plus I add a “verifying your payment” loader to avoid that annoying moment where users look like they’re still on Free while PayPal is processing.
