Good morning and welcome to Overland Expo SoCal 2026. In this video I start my day in the Content Creator Area and do a quick walk-through of the rigs and builds that show up when you put a bunch of off-road and overland creators in one place. I originally planned to go live, but I wasn’t confident my phone signal would hold up the whole time, so I recorded it and uploaded it shortly after. Before the walk-through, I circle back to a thought I started in a previous live that got cut off: the off-road industry has evolved fast. Factory rigs are coming with 35-inch (and larger) tires, and a lot of the creators who inspired me have evolved too—engine swaps, axle swaps, and moving into bigger platforms like Ross Monsters or Sherpas. I still love and support that content, but when it came time for us to search for a new rig, we decided we’re not chasing the “bigger is better” trend. The point, no matter what you drive—Sprinter vans, a Bronco, a former ambulance, a Freightliner, a Ford camper build, or a Jeep like the Renegade/Gladiator—is to get out and explore.
