How did you build the Dragon Ball Z Cell Games Arena diorama in 1:12 scale?

I built it in sections so the arena is modular instead of one giant slab. I carved the arena shapes out of foam, prepped the spires and base, then primed and painted everything before finishing the ground like an Earth base. The big goal was a clean “Cell Games” silhouette that still looks good up close for photos.

Yeah—this arena is built as magnetized quadrants. That way I can connect the sections for the full reveal, but also separate them for storage and different scene setups. It’s one of my favorite ways to build bigger dioramas without making my shelf space miserable.

What problems should you watch out for on SH Figuarts “The Games Begin” Goku?

I call out a few issues right after the unboxing because I want you to know what to check as soon as you open the box. Even with those problems, the figure has some really impressive updates that make it worth talking about. If you’re picky like me, you’ll want to inspect it before you start swapping parts and posing.

Is the SH Figuarts “The Games Begin” Goku better than older SH Figuarts Goku releases?

Accepted Answer

I do a direct comparison with past Goku releases because that’s the only way to tell if this is actually an upgrade. There are areas where the new engineering feels incredible, especially for dynamic diorama posing. But I’m also honest about what still doesn’t feel perfect.

What materials did you use for the Cell Games Arena base and terrain?

I focused on foam for the main structure, then did prep work like sanding and priming to clean it up before paint. For the ground, I built an Earth-style base and finished it with paint and static grass to add texture. That combo helps the arena feel like it’s actually sitting in a real environment, not just on a flat platform.

Unfortunately… yeah. There’s a moment in the build where I can’t believe I broke a piece, and it’s the kind of thing that happens when you’re pushing details on foam and parts you’ve already prepped. I show it because that’s part of the process—stuff breaks, you fix it, and you keep moving.
