On January 1st, 2014, I uploaded the first “Things You Might Not Know” video. After the initial rush, I set myself a simple, slightly terrifying target: one video a week. And, with the occasional guest upload and the odd bit of blatant filler, I hit that target every single week — to my own satisfaction, I never missed one. This video is me saying: that run is ending. It’s not a dramatic flounce, and it’s not me vanishing off the internet. It’s me being honest about the cost of weekly deadlines, and choosing to stop before the schedule breaks me or the work. I also take a moment to acknowledge the things I didn’t do: I never got to space, I never went to the ocean depths, and I never managed to justify being harnessed under a helicopter and flying off into the sunset — mostly because I couldn’t find an excuse for that one.
