New NotebookLM Customization: Add Images & Custom Summaries

Is your NotebookLM dashboard starting to look like a wall of identical grey folders? I'll walk through the new "Customize" features in NotebookLM that finally let you take control of the visual layout and the (often unhelpful) auto-generated summaries. The Notebook Branding Blueprint: - Visual ID: Open a notebook. Use the "Customize" button to upload a header image. This appears in your chat view and on the homepage card. - Summary Override: Toggle "Set custom notebook summary" to replace the summary with your own project notes, client details, or team info. - The Blank Slate Trick: If you want a clean look without any summary text, enter a single period (.) to effectively delete the AI summary. A few thoughts I'll share: - The Image Crop: NotebookLM is currently aggressive with header image cropping. Your uploaded visuals may look perfect on the homepage card but appear cut off once you’re inside the chat. - Tier Access Changes: When I recorded the video a few days ago, this feature wasn't available on the free tier (as I mentioned at the end of the video).
