How to Use ChatGPT Library

You don't need to dig through your Downloads folder every time you need to reference that 40-page strategy doc or that random image of a glitter monster you created. OpenAI finally added the ChatGPT Library, a dedicated storage space that lives inside your account. It’s essentially cloud storage that allows you to park your assets so they are ready to attach, whether you’re on your laptop or your phone. The ChatGPT Storage Blueprint: - Access the Sidebar: Open your sidebar at chatgpt.com. If you’re on a Plus, Pro, or Business plan (and outside the EEA/UK), the Library tab will appear in the sidebar. - Upload: Drag in your CSVs, PDFs, images, etc. Once they’re in the Library, they are universal across your account. - Attach via Plus: In any new chat, click the + icon, select Recent Files, and choose Add from Library to pull your saved assets instantly. - Grid vs. List: Use the toggle in the top right to organize by file type or recently modified to keep your library in order. I'll share a few thoughts: - Whatever they say about data usage, know it may change. - The Regional Blackout: If you’re in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, don't bother looking for the button...yet. - Hard File Limits: You’ve got a 512MB hard cap per file for docs and a 20MB limit for images. If you’re trying to store high-res video assets, this isn’t the tool to use. - The Context Window Issue: Storing a file in the library doesn't mean that ChatGPT knows it yet.
