I'll break down the exact prompt structure I used to generate text files, PDFs, and even populated Google Sheets simultaneously. The File Generation Blueprint: - The Model Choice: Stick with Gemini "Fast." There is no discernible advantage to using Thinking or Pro for basic file generation. - The Specificity Stack: You must define Type, Quantity, and Contents in a single prompt. - Spreadsheets: For Google Sheets, explicitly tell Gemini to "spread data over X columns and Y rows" to avoid it dumping everything into a single cell. - Zip Files: Request a .zip file at the end of your prompt to package local downloads into one neat folder. My thoughts: - As I found out the hard way, if you don't specify a filename in your prompt, Gemini will choose its own filename. - Explicitly add "Name: [Your Title]" to every file type. - Gemini treats local files (.txt, .pdf, .zip) differently than Google files (.doc, .sheet).
