Have you tried to dump an entire YouTube playlist into NotebookLM only to find it doesn't work like a single video? For a long time, you couldn't add a playlist, but had to add each video one by one. Now, it kind of works. But as with most AI updates anymore, the devil is in the details. I'll show you exactly how to add a playlist and, more importantly, why you might still prefer adding videos one by one. The Playlist Import Blueprint - The URL Grab: Copy the main playlist link from YouTube. - The Source Switch: Use the YouTube icon in the "Add Sources" menu NotebookLM to paste the link. - The Metadata Wall: Understand that NotebookLM is transcribing the list, not every individual video's content into one searchable item. - The Redirect Loop: If you want to watch the video, you can click the think, but be prepared to be taken outside of NotebookLM and redirected to YouTube. My thoughts: - Single videos play directly in the side panel. - Playlists just give you a link that opens a new browser tab. - It doesn't aggregate the transcripts of every video in the playlist into your grounded data. It essentially only creates a Table of Contents. - It's kind of weird how it works. For a lot of people I've talked to, this isn't actually useful because NotebookLM can't really do much with it yet. It’s more of a bookmarking tool than a research tool at this point. ✨ Join the cohort at the next NotebookLM Masterclass → https://maven.com/thoughts-brewing-llc/learn-notebooklm-in-a-weekend-2-cohort 🌟 Request a video here: https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/youtube-video-request-page?utm_source=youtube #NotebookLM #YouTubePlaylists #AIWorkflows #AIQuickTips #ThoughtsBrewing ➡️ Join the Next-Level AI Workshop: https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/next-level-ai-workshops?utm_source=youtube ➡️ Get smarter AI Quick Tips in your inbox: https://thoughtsbrewing.com/en-us/blog-subscription?utm_source=youtube ➡️ Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/@thoughtsbrewingllc Timestamps 0:00 - Can you add a YouTube playlist to NotebookLM? 0:35 - How do you add a YouTube playlist as a source? 2:40 - What is the difference between video and playlist sources? 4:00 - Recap: Adding YouTube Playlists as Sources in NotebookLM Keywords NotebookLM YouTube playlist, Google NotebookLM tutorial 2026, AI research tools, NotebookLM limitations, workflow automation, grounded AI research, Google AI updates, digital organization for professionals, Google NotebookLM, AI Quick Tips, Thoughts Brewing, Damien Griffin, NotebookLM, YouTube in NotebookLM, Add a playlist to NotebookLM, Google AI, Google Labs, YouTube playlist in NotebookLM, Single videos vs playlists as sources in NotebookLM, How to add a YouTube Playlist to NotebookLM
